Sonia (Sunny) Bitensky-Halperin

Peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Beloved wife of Zalman for forty-one years. Dear sister-in-law of Sam and Irene Bitensky, Hannah Fitch, Stewart and Nicole Bitensky, and Leonard Bitensky. Special aunt of Joanna, Marla, Ruth and Seb, Daniel and Wendy. Sunny will be sadly missed by her loving cousins Robert Letovsky and Sheila Stober, Connie Letovsky, Rhona and Bryan Rozen, Elan Levitan and Janice Benatar as well as by all who knew and loved her.

She was a constant presence in the lives of her cousins and their children, always being there for them at milestones, celebrations and sporting events. She experienced tremendous enjoyment for lively conversations, whether they were about family or current issues. She will be sorely missed.

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W. on Tuesday, January 27 at 12:00 p.m. Shiva at her home. Burial at the Shaare Zedek Congregation section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Donations in her memory may be made to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251.
