Amy Rindner passed on May 5, 2026, at the age of 84.
Amy Rindner, a lifelong Bronx resident and proud “Bronx girl through and through,” passed away. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable stories. Born on August 4, 1941, Amy remained deeply rooted in the place she cherished and called home.
Amy raised her son and daughter on her own and was the beloved grandmother of two grandsons, one granddaughter, and a great-grandson. She adored her daughter-in-law and son-in-law as if they were her own children. Her family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride and joy in each of them.
Known for her sharp wit and warm spirit, Amy had a gift for storytelling that could captivate any room. In the true spirit of a Jewish New Yorker, she always found something to complain and kvell about. She loved making people laugh and, to quote Amy herself, is the funniest person in our family. She left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Beyond her family, Amy found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved good food, her ever-present Diet Pepsi, and losing herself in a great book or television show, especially ones that could make her both laugh and cry. She loved cats and would constantly watch Animal Planet. She was also the go-to for any reality TV concerns. If you ever wanted to know what was going on with Kardashians you could always ask Amy. She was passionate about politics and she made sure everyone was aware of her opinions.
Life was tough on her, but despite the losses she experienced, she endured. She was a tough cookie. She was strong and witty, fierce and ferocious. Sure, she could drive you crazy but we all have to admit she was the life of the party and the center of our conversations. She definitely had personality. We all love you so much.
Amy’s presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who knew and loved her. Her stories, her laughter, and her unwavering Bronx spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
