Blake William Hankins passed away peacefully at home on May 8, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 9, 1955, in Peoria, Illinois, to Robert L. Hankins and Jeanne L. Haney.
Blake graduated from Worthington High School in Columbus, Ohio, in 1973. He later pursued additional training and certifications in welding, building a skilled career in the trade. He retired in 2011 from Hubbell Power Systems, where he worked as a Foundry Specialist.
Blake was a devoted member of Riverchase Methodist Church and a loyal Alabama Crimson Tide fan.
Blake was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Hankins and Jeanne L. Haney, and his stepfather, E. Donald Haney. He is survived by his brother, Mark R. Hankins (Christina); He is also survived by his sisters, Christine H. Hilliard (Jim) and Cris H. Nelson (Tommy); He is survived as well by his brother, Steven E. Haney. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riverchase Methodist Church.
