Cynthia Ann Barbour

Cynthia Ann Barbour, 76, of Tampa, Fl passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026.

Cynthia “Cindy” was born in South Bend Indiana, on March 31, 1950. Cindy and her family relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the late 50’s where she graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1968. Cindy went on to the University of South Florida, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

Cindy married Walt Barbour, on January 18, 1973 and they begin building their life together in Tampa, Fl. Cindy was a devoted wife and a loving mother. Cindy loved working with children and was an active member at Buchanan Baptist Church for 50 years she actively built and led their children’s church programs for more than 30 years and was an active member of the choir. Cindy enjoyed listening and singing to Christian music and old Hymns. Cindy adored being a grandma (Mamaw) to her 5 grandchildren, they were to lights of her life.

Cindy enjoyed Charles Wysocki jigsaw puzzles, playing board games, classic Hollywood musicals, game shows, and crocheting blankets for her family, especially for her grandchildren.

Cindy is preceded in death by her husband Walter Thurman Barbour Jr. and her parents Ed and Virginia Bolf.

She is survived by her daughters Amy Adams (Kerry Adams) and Elizabeth “Beth” Wolfgang (Curt Wolfgang). Grandchildren Hannah Wolfgang, Jacob Wolfgang, Andrew Wolfgang, Cordelia Dunkel, and Trevor Dunkel. Siblings Susan Englert (Mark) of Longwood, Fl; Edwin “Bud” Bolf of Plantation, FL; and Thomas Bolf (Carrie) of Plantation, FL. Sister-in-law Lu Thompson of Plant City, FL and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

A memorial service for Cindy is scheduled for April 25, 2026. Visitation to begin at 11:00 AM with a service to follow at 12:00 PM.

Donations can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or St. Judes Children’s Hospital in memory of Cindy.
