Debra D. Droughton

May 10, 2026 Austin, Quebec Dignity Memorial

Debra “Dee Dee” Headrick Droughton, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and dear friend, passed away on May 10th, 2026.

Dee Dee was born on June 20th, 1960 in Houston, Texas to Jim Headrick and Margaret Corcoran. Dee Dee is survived by her two sons Kyle and Kent, her daughter-in-law Autumn, and her grandson Luke.

She is also survived by her father and step-mother, Jim and Doris Headrick, brother, Jimmy (Tamera) Headrick, and sisters, Susie (Chris) Davis, Linda (David) Sharp, Teresa (Steve) Ruckman, and Jessica Headrick, as well as many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Droughton, her mother, Margaret Corcoran, her sister, Lynn Headrick, as well as her aunts, Delores Nettles and Sylvia Neal.

Dee Dee’s life was marked with empathy and grace through adversity. God called Dee Dee to be a strong, supportive friend and family member, and she gladly carried her cross. As a loving mother and devout friend, she took great satisfaction in prioritizing the needs of others. In retirement, she was quite the social butterfly (as much as any introvert could be!), spending much of her time shopping with friends for Christmas in July, arts-and-crafting, and redecorating just for fun. In her quiet time, she loved to unwind with volumes of spy novels and historical fiction, and often poured her imagination and emotion into writing short stories and poems. She deeply enjoyed the many trips she took with her family and friends, as well as being a “bonus grandma” to many of her great nieces and nephews. She most especially enjoyed her most recent title, “Nana”, cherishing and spoiling Luke at every turn.

One of Dee Dee’s greatest qualities was her ability to forge lasting friendships at the drop of a hat. Once you were a friend, you were a friend for life. She made a point to always stay in touch, even in some small, unique way, with everyone she came to love. God received Dee Dee into his loving arms as she was surrounded by friends and family.

Her memory will be cherished. She will remain deeply loved, and sorely missed.

Dee Dee’s funeral mass will be held at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land, TX on May 29th, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Please send flowers to the Church at the attention of the Droughton Family.
