It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Dolores Z. Buzby (nee Paone), who passed away on Sunday, May 3rd 2026 at home surrounded by family in Deptford, NJ. She was born on April 3, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA. She was the daughter of the late Riccardo and Annarella (nee DeGregorio) Paone.
She was a proud graduate of Philadelphia Girls High School, Northeastern Hospital Nursing School, class of 1953, and received her master’s degree in nursing from Villanova University, Class of 1968. Dolores had a career in nursing for over 30 years, rising to the position of Director of Nursing at Northeastern Hospital. She was recognized as a mentor and teacher in the field of nursing.
She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister and aunt to her family. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Wendell Buzby, and spending time with her family and friends. Family was everything to her.
She is survived by her sister Gloria (nee Paone) Grosso, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her loving family.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Monday, May 11, 2026 from 10:30AM to 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 819 E. Cathedral Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19128. A funeral mass will follow at 11 AM. A private committal service will take place at Westminster Cemetery, 701 Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004
