Gerda Anna Engelking, 96, of Chilliwack BC, passed away peacefully on May 21st, 2026 at the Chilliwack General Hospital.
She was born May 8th, 1930 in Iserlohn, Germany.
She met and married her husband, Percy, who was in the Canadian military in Germany in 1961 and immigrated to Canada shortly after. Percy's military career came with many postings .... Winnipeg, Man., Pettawawa, Ont., Churchill, Man, Chilliwack, B.C. including 2 postings to Germany. Gerda loved the mountains and they settled in Chilliwack upon Percy's retirement.
Their love of travel brought them to many North American cities with their travel trailer and spent many winters in Arizona.
Gerda was preceded by her husband, Percy and is survived by many nieces, nephews.
At her request there will not be a funeral service. Gerda will be cremated and interned at the Vedder View Gardens Cemetery
