Glendon Elsmore Pearce Jr. was born on February 28, 1944, in Harlem, New York, to the late Glendon Elsmore Pearce Sr. and Evelyn J. Beatty. He was raised in a loving family that shaped his character, values, and the deep sense of loyalty he carried throughout his life.

He received his early education at St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont, and later continued his studies at Lake Forest College in Chicago. He ultimately graduated from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque with a Bachelor of Arts degree. These formative years helped build the foundation for the hardworking, dedicated man he would become.

Glendon was a loving, loyal, and devoted partner to his longtime love, Mrs. Sheryl Jones. Their bond was one of unwavering commitment and quiet strength. Glendon was also blessed with a close‑knit and deeply cherished family, including his daughter Anita Royal (husband Bernard); grandchildren Sha’nae Westbrooks, Shaina Manley, Cora O’Donnell, and Kyrah Leonard; and great‑grandchildren Imani Bland, Milayah Bland, Sinai Lee, Phoenix Westbrooks, Ariah Brown, Nevaeh Manley, Shaiyla Manley, Ansleigh Manley, Shayn Manley, and Hazel O’Donnell. His love for them was constant, steady, and unmistakable.

Glendon served his country with honor and courage as a member of the United States Navy, completing one tour in the Vietnam War. His service reflected his bravery, discipline, and unwavering sense of duty. After his military career, Glendon continued to exemplify dedication and perseverance in his civilian life as a Social Worker within the State of New York’s Employment Services Department, where he remained until his retirement.

Throughout his life, Glendon embodied the values of family, perseverance, and commitment. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him, in the stories shared across generations, and in the quiet strength he instilled in his family.

Glendon will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We thank God for the wonderful years he blessed our lives, and we take comfort in knowing that his memory will endure for eternity.
