Joseph W Harper

Joseph W. Harper, 78, of Miami, FL passed away on April 16, 2026 with family at his side.

Joe was born in New Jersey in January 1948. He moved to Florida in the 1970s where he spent several years with the Metro-Dade Police Department. He was shot in the line of duty in 1976, which forced him to retire from the police department. He owned his own business and had a very long career as a prominent criminal polygraph examiner in Miami-Dade and surrounding counties. He was also known for his regular comical lie detector series on Sabado Gigante (Mentira, Mentira, Mentira).

Joe will be remembered for his love of the New York Yankees and his incredible sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Lee, his daughter, Molly (Matt), and his granddaughter, Eliza. He is predeceased by his two sons, Bryan and Joseph.

At the family’s request, no memorial or public burial will be held. In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be made to the American Heart Association.
