Joyce A. "Susie" Thomas, 87, of Evansville passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 3, 2026. She was born February 19, 1939 in Evansville to Melvin and Sylvia (Taylor) Hudson.
She was a longtime member of Old North United Methodist Church, and served as a den mother for the Boy Scouts. She and her husband, Donald lived in Florida for 15 years. Susie enjoyed crafts, cooking, cleaning, and traveling. She was young at heart and had an active spirit.
Susie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Thomas; and son, Robert Roberson.
She is survived by her sons, Alan Roberson (Melody) and Michael Roberson (Kristi); grandchildren, Matthew Roberson (Caroline), Eric Knight (Miranda), Zac Veatch (Rhea), Gretchen Lydick (Caleb), Jesse Hornaday (Jarrod), Holly Payne (Austin), Amanda Nosko (Dustin), Zachary Roberson (Rachel), Danielle Roberson (Damion), Mackenzi Schweizer (Sam), and Logan Roberson (Jordyn); 26.5 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Linda Hudson; several nieces and nephews; and life-long friend, Margaret "Maggie" Silkey.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Alexander Memorial Park, officiated by Elder Sherry Passmore, with entombment to follow. Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the cemetery chapel.
