A local radio icon has passed away.
Lee Davis, the former owner of WCUB and WLTU, died after a battle with some general health problems at the age of 90.
Lee’s professional journey in broadcasting took him all over the country. He started his career in radio in high school when he joined the radio club. His talent was immediately noticed, and he was hired by a radio station in Albuquerque, New Mexico. While talking with the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for his Hall of Fame video, Lee said he was immediately hooked. Lee would take his talents to Fort Lauderdale, Wilmington DE, and Chicago before finally going to Manitowoc, Wisconsin when he was hired as the General Manager of WCUB/WLTU stations, he would become the sole owner of in 1988. Lee was also the host of The Breakfast Club on WCUB for over 30 years, a program that still runs today. -Article by Ryan Brahn
Lee served on the WBA board for 8yrs and was the WBA president for 2 years.
After the sale of his stations, Lee hung up his business suit and moved to The Villages, FL. He loved to travel with one of his favorite destinations being the Holy Land. For a time, he was the official announcer for the Old-Time Radio Drama Club, a social club dedicated to Old Time Radio.

Lee is survived by his loving wife Joan; Sister, Patricia Adams and brother-in-law Jerome; Son, Lee Davis III and wife Sarah; Daughter, Lisa Schamburek and husband Scott; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass for Lee will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, 1:00PM, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5323 E County Road 462 Wildwood, FL. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately after mass at Dignity Memorial Life Celebration Center, 7134 Powell Road Wildwood, at 2:00PM. There will be another Celebration of Life at the Manitowoc Yacht Club, 815 Maritime Dr. Manitowoc, WI on Sunday, July 19, 2026 from 2:00- 5:00PM.
