Lorraine Rodriguez, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, went home to rest on May 8, 2026. She is survived by her children, Lorimar Schacter and Esteban Rodriguez; her son in law, Adam Schacter; her daughter in law, Candice Valentin; her grandchildren, Julian Schacter and Liana Rodriguez; her sister, Maria Roman; and her nephews, Jaime and Anthony Vazquez.
Lorraine lived life with a joyful spirit from the love and joy her family and friends brought her. She cherished holidays, gatherings, spending time with her children and grandchildren and never missed the opportunity to capture those moments on camera – just take a look at her Facebook.
Lorraine shared her world through sign language, teaching her granddaughter to sign and happily teaching her loved ones too—even when they asked about the curse words.
She lived a vibrant social life within her beloved deaf community, often attending events like the deaf expo, going dancing (especially salsa) and having get togethers in celebration of her beautiful friendships.
Lorraine enjoyed sewing, knitting, crafting, and tending to her plants, but her greatest joy came from creating thoughtful gifts for her loved ones. She lovingly made blankets for her grandchildren, including her grandson’s absolute favorite. Her art creations displayed her happy disposition, often adorned with flowers, butterflies, bright colors and especially her favorite color, pink.
Lorraine will be remembered for her warmth, joy, generosity, creativity, and the deep love she poured into everyone she held dear. Her legacy will live on through the family and friends she adored and the many lives she touched. She will be forever loved and forever missed.
