Louise A. Gallo of Farmingdale, New York, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 18, 1928, in Brooklyn, NY, Louise lived a life centered on family, friendship, faith and tradition. She was a beloved mother to John (Karen) and Tom (Dolores), and a cherished grandmother to Derek, Marlaina (David), Andrew (Kristine), Thomas (Niki), John (Jackie), Diana (Nick), and Krista (Alex). She was also the adored great-grandmother of Matthew, Mikayla, Rose, Goldie, Jax, and Alessandra.
Louise was a loving daughter, sibling, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend whose warmth and devotion touched everyone who knew her. She treasured spending time with her family, especially the Sunday night dinners and holiday gatherings that became treasured traditions for generations. Her kitchen was always filled with love, laughter, and the delicious aromas of the meals she prepared so lovingly. Her family will forever remember her famous lasagna, chicken parmigiana, and homemade cookies. She enjoyed playing cards and mahjong and loved spending time with her many friends at Hardscrabble in town. Her faith remained an important and guiding part of her life. Louise will be remembered for her generous heart, unwavering love for her family, and the joy she brought to every gathering. Her legacy of love, faith, and family traditions will live on in all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 7:00–9:00 p.m. at Arthur F. White Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 9, at 10:45 a.m. at St. Kilian Parish in Farmingdale.
