Louise R. Leyba

May 6, 2026 Dignity Memorial

Born and raised in Jansen, Colorado to Casimero and Charlotte Rodriguez on June 21, 1940.

Entered Eternal Life surrounded by her loved ones on May 6, 2026 in Fountain, Colorado.

She married Richard F. Leyba on September 21, 1961, in Trinidad, Colorado; Where they remained in holy matrimony until his passing on January 12, 2006 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She was employed at the Dale Motel for 20 years as a housekeeper, at Helen Hunt Elementary School where she was a lunchroom monitor and teacher’s aide for 3 years, and she was also a caregiver to one of our neighbor’s wives, Mrs. Knight, for a little over a year. She was also employed at Your Valet Dry Cleaners and Laundry, where she was a dry cleaner operator and presser for 5 years. In between, she would babysit and watched several children in her home. One of her favorite things to share with children were her many Bible Story Picture Books.

Louise spent her quiet time reading her Bible, or watching TV, and she loved to go camping. However, her most valued and beloved passion was her Family.

Louise was a household engineer as a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and cousin, a true pillar for us all. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter Charlotte A. Bowman (Brian), her sons, Richard D. Leyba (Pamela), and Carl K Leyba (Juanita), her grandchildren, Renee Gonzales (Willie Joe), Angela Bowman, Alex Bowman, Reanna Leyba, Reva Leyba, Jessica Leyba, and John Leyba. As well as her great grandchildren, Sophia Gonzales and Carlos N Tiscareno.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday May 28, 2026 at 1:00pm at Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Rd, Colorado Springs, CO, 80910, with a Committal Service to Follow.
