M. Andrew Durkee

C’est avec tristesse que la famille vous annonce le décès de Monsieur Andrew Durkee de Montebello, survenu le vendredi 3 avril 2026 à l’âge de 59 ans. Fils de feu Willis Arthur Durkee et de feu Phyllis Audrey Pettie.

Il laisse dans le deuil, sa fille bien-aimée Samantha, Gab son fils de coeur et le meilleur ami de Samantha, sa tendre moitié Lou, ses soeurs Susan (Mike) et Holly, son cousin et grand ami Vince ainsi que Kat et Kady.

Il fut prédécédé par son frère Bob et sa soeur Linda.

Lui survivent également plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, cousins, cousines, neveux, nièces et ami(e)s.

Un merci spécial à tous ses anges de l’Unité de pneumologie du CHUM de Montréal pour l’accompagnement et les excellents soins prodigués.

Les arrangements funéraires ont été confiés au Complexe Funéraire Familial de la Petite-Nation Shields Berthiaume 101, rue Principale, St-André-Avellin, Québec (819) 983-6616.

Une célébration en honneur d’Andrew aura lieu à une date ultérieure.

Grand sportif dans l’âme, il souhaitait poser un geste concret pour les jeunes de Montebello en amassant des dons destinés à l’achat de paniers de basketball pour le village, afin de les encourager à bouger. Les personnes qui désirent contribuer peuvent le faire en envoyant leur don par courriel à samdurkeem@gmail.com Ce projet représentait pour lui une façon sincère de redonner à la communauté qui l’avait si chaleureusement accueilli il y a 42 ans.

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Mr. Andrew Durkee of Montebello, who passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the age of 59. He was the son of the late Willis Arthur Durkee and the late Phyllis Audrey Pettie.

He leaves to mourn his beloved daughter Samantha, Gab, like a son to him and Samantha’s best friend, his better half Lou, his sisters Susan (Mike) and Holly, his cousin and dear friend Vince and Kat and Kady.

He was predeceased by his brother Bob and his sister Linda.He is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A special thank you to all his angels of the Pneumology Unit at the CHUM in Montreal for their support and the excellent care provided.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Complexe Funéraire Familial de la Petite-Nation Shields Berthiaume, 101 rue Principale, St-André-Avellin, Quebec (819) 983-6616.

A celebration of Andrew’s life will be held at a later date.

A passionate sportsman at heart, he wished to make a meaningful contribution for the youth of Montebello by raising funds for the purchase of basketball nets for the village, encouraging young people to stay active. Those who wish to contribute may do so by sending a donation via email to samdurkeem@gmail.com This initiative was his heartfelt way of giving back to the community that had warmly welcomed him 42 years ago.
