Maria Esther Rodriguez

May 5, 2026 Dignity Memorial

Maria Ester Rodriguez was born to Dionicio and Martina Terraza in Mexico. She was the eighth of ten children and was blessed with eight sisters and two brothers, all of whom preceded her in death. On February 10, 1962, she married Jesus Rodriguez. Maria was the proud mother of four sons. Two sons preceded her in death, and she is survived by her sons, Chino Rodriguez and his family of El Paso, and Carlos Rodriguez of Dallas. Mrs. Rodriguez worked as a seamstress for more than thirty years. She dedicated her life to her family, always placing the needs of her children before her own. Her greatest purpose was to be a loving mother who provided, protected, and cared for her family with unwavering devotion. A woman of deep faith, Maria believed that actions spoke louder than words. Born in Mexico, she later moved to El Paso in search of a better life for her family. Through hard work, sacrifice, and determination, she became the embodiment of the virtuous woman described in the Book of Proverbs. Maria Ester Rodriguez leaves behind her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish her memory. She was a woman who quietly met the needs of others without seeking recognition. She fed the hungry without expecting anything in return. She spoke honestly and fearlessly, always delivering her truth with both strength and love. For decades, Maria faithfully supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in her honor to St. Jude.
