Phyllis A (Coraggio) Naclerio, 81, of Eastchester, New York, passed away peacefully on May 6 surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis was born on December 14, 1944 to Ernest and Ann (Palmiero) Coraggio and grew up in Mount Vernon, NY.
On January 16, 1965, she married Salvatore Naclerio, and went on to celebrate 55 happy years of marriage before his passing in 2020. Together, they made their home in Eastchester where they raised their three children and made lifelong friendships.
Phyllis was the heart and soul of her family. Her greatest joys were her children and three adoring granddaughters. Affectionately known to many as “Ma Phyllis”, she was present for every special moment in her family’s lives and created countless memories they will treasure forever. Phyllis was a longtime employee of the Eastchester School District, retiring in 2004.
She spent her winters at her home in Delray Beach, Florida with her many dear friends. She was an avid Mahjong player, loved to read, and was an exceptional cook.
She is survived by her children, Joseph and Tracey Naclerio of Eastchester; Stephen and Chrissy Naclerio of White Plains; and Marisa Lindley of Nottingham, England; as well as her cherished granddaughters, Lauren and Julia Naclerio, and Ava Lindley. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Sal; her parents; and sisters, June Pagnotta and Diane Puleo. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A wake will be held at Bennett Funeral Home on Sunday, May 10, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 11, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Phyllis’ memory to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
