Maxine Lynn Brody, 74, of Stamford, Connecticut, passed away on April 30, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief and unexpected illness. Maxine was a most loved wife, mom, Grammy, sister, aunt and friend.
She was a Valentine baby, born February 14, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Jack and Dalia Sias. Maxine loved traveling the world, vacationing on Kauai, Hawai’i, shopping, trying new restaurants, Broadway shows and making her speciality appetizers and desserts. But more than anything else, she just loved being with her family. Maxine was a career travel agent and in retirement a substitute teacher at Toquam Elementary school.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rick Brody, her two adored children, son Seth Brody; daughter Lauren Cohen, son-in-law Matt Cohen and the newest love of her life, grandson Dezi Cohen; two beloved sisters Leslie (Albert) Sherman, Randie (Randy) Brickman; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 3 at 2:30pm at Temple Beth El, Stamford, CT, followed by internment at Beth El cemetery.
To honor Maxine’s memory, donations may be made to the Basser Center for BRCA, the V foundation for Cancer Research-BRCA Fund, or the UCSF Center for BRCA Research.
