Barbara Joyce Mosko, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026. She was born on March 28, 1936, in Nason, Illinois, and lived a life devoted to her family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, David Mosko; her sisters, Sandra Planner and Glenda B. Sherman; and her daughter-in-law, Sharon Langer. She is survived by her brother, Max Reynolds of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; her sister, Ronetta Pilcher of Inverness, Florida; and her loving children, Tom Langer, Tim Langer (Dawn), Tony Langer, and Tammy Langer Lee (David). She was a proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom lovingly knew her as “Mimi.”
Mimi will be remembered for her unique laugh, her love of black coffee, and her enthusiasm for Christmas shopping and decorations. She was full of personality, found humor in the simplest things, and never hesitated to speak her mind. Her presence was vibrant, genuine, and unforgettable. As her granddaughter, Tyler Lee Martin, lovingly said, “Heaven gained one spunky lady.”
Mimi will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, David. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Ridout's Trussville Chapel in Trussville, Alabama. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
