Travis Eugene Glass, beloved husband to Zolemma Smith Glass and special daddy to Terissa Glass Mendum and Selena Glass DeGiovanni, peacefully left this world for his eternal home on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. He is now rejoicing with his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
Travis was born in Dogwood, Alabama on December 31, 1937. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, grandparents who raised him, and three brothers. He is succeeded by the love of his life Zoe, and daughters Terissa (David) and Selena (Mike). Six grandchildren, Andrew Christian Long (Savannah), Jonathan David Mendum, Aaron Joshua Long, Joseph William-Travis Mendum (Bryanna), River Anna Elise Long, and Adin Gene Emmanuel Long. He was blessed to be able to hold his only great grandchild Wesson Stone Mendum. He also leaves behind a loved brother Ron Brasher, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Travis was a talented football player at Woodlawn High School in the 50s. He served in the Air National Guard and was called up during the Cuban Missile Crisis serving two years in Dreux, France. As a teen he went to work for Capital Airlines which later became United Airlines, working his way from ramp agent to managing the Jacksonville, Florida airport station. He earned several prestigious awards in his service to United. He was respected and loved by his co-workers and employees.
Travis was born again at the age of 27 and served his Lord for many years as a soul-winner, deacon in the church, teacher of married couples, and mentor to youth.
He loved music and had a hobby of making 35mm film, VHS, DVD, and CD music for family and friends. But his favorite pastime was Alabama football and any other college and professional football. He also loved baseball and golf. He loved to travel and took his family on some marvelous vacations. He enjoyed spending time walking and talking with friends at the YMCA.
He was addicted to candy bars and Little Debbie cream cakes and enjoyed sharing them with everyone. He was a very generous man, sharing financially with others and helping those in need.
We will all miss him but we know he is happier now than ever before and will usher his beautiful wife Zoe, of 69 years into heaven when her time comes.
