Marilyn Faye Mossberger

May 1, 2026 Cowansville, Quebec Dignity Memorial

Marilyn Faye Mossberger, age 84, passed away at her home on May 1, 2026, with her beloved husband, Robert, “Bob” Mossberger lying next to her side.

Marilyn was born on April 15, 1942, to the late Edward and Helen Loehr (Schweikart).

She grew up on a farm in St. Wendel, IN. Her farm life days were spent tending to her cows, chickens, ducks, and many other animals. Marilyn enjoyed nurturing her flowers, gardening, sewing, cooking, and baking, in which she made many delicious meals from scratch. She truly was the most loving, caring, and compassionate woman. Her smile, and laugh would light up an entire room. Marilyn had the most gentle spirit in which she made those in her life feel safe, seen, and cared for. She most adored being surrounded by her loved ones. Her family was her greatest treasure. Marilyn was known for “spoiling” her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. “Grandma’s” home was always the perfect place to be.

Marilyn graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in the County, in 1956 where she was a lifetime member of its Church Parish. She served there as a Eucharistic Minister and Greeter. She graduated from Mater Dei High School in 1960. Marilyn was a member of the St. Ann’s Altar Society, and served 7 years in the Hospitality Committee. She was also a member of the Women's Auxiliary with the Riverbend Association. At the young age of 15, she met the love of her life, Robert, on a double date dragging Main Street with her twin sister, Carolyn (Loehr) Brothers. She worked at Dog N Suds during high school where she was a waitress, and after high school she worked at Bristol Myers, and retired there in 1994.

Marilyn’s faith in Jesus Christ was so evident. She truly believed and lived by the hope of eternal rest and salvation for believers through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. No matter what she walked through, she persevered through the Lord’s strength and grace. Marilyn put her full complete trust in God, and found peace and joy through His promise of the Gospel. She knew what it meant to, “take up her own cross and carry it” (Matthew 16:24), and she did until her final last breath.

Hallelujah, what a triumph we have in Jesus!

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Helen Loehr (Schweikart), her siblings, Martha Kissinger, Kathleen Melton, and James Loehr. Marilyn also has beautiful grandbabies in Heaven.

Surviving Marilyn is her husband of 65 beautiful years, Robert “Bob” Mossberger. Her daughter, Sheila (Mossberger) McGehee, and her husband, Bryan McGehee, her son, Robert “Bobby” Mossberger II, his fiance, Andrea Ferrell, her grandchildren, Joshua McGehee and his wife, Starla (Buchanan) McGehee, Robert “Robby” Mossberger III, Kaitlyn (McGehee) Hartman, and her husband, Andrew Hartman, Dillon Mossberger, Madison Mossberger, Kameryn McGehee, and Mason Mossberger. Marilyn has 3 cherished great-grandchildren, Isaiah McGehee, Calvin Hartman, and Arthur Hartman. She is also survived by her twin sister, Carolyn (Loehr) Brothers, and her brother, Marvin Loehr.

Marilyn's family wishes to thank the staff of AseraCare Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
