Irwin Woods

It is with deep sadness that the family of Irwin Woods announces his peaceful passing on Wednesday, March 11th in Toronto.

Devoted husband of the late Susan Levin. Loving father and father in-law of Wendy Woods and Lorne Tugg, and Dana Woods and Steven Johnstone. Adored brother and brother in-law of Barbara Kingstone and the late Edward Kingstone and Dawn-a Woods and René Vielhauer. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Irwin was known for his commitment to exercise, frequently at the YMHA by 5:30am to workout with a group known as the Mishegoyim of the morning. He could often be found on the ski hill, tennis court, riding a bike or sailing, always with a cigar at hand. He was a man who loved art, travel, politics, photography and was a lifelong learner.

Irwin will be remembered for his sense of humour and devotion to friends and family.

Thank you to his wonderful caregivers, Herminia, Merry, Lorna and Anicee from Home Instead, and all the staff at the Dunfield Retirement Residence.

Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on Friday March 13th, at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Shaare Zion Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield.

Wendy will welcome shiva visits following the burial at Hilton Homewood Suites, 6939 Decarie Blvd., Montreal, Suite 222. Wendy will continue to accept shiva visits in Toronto at 494 Glengarry Ave. on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. (services at 7:30 each evening), Monday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Dana and Dawn-a welcome shiva visits following the burial at Centre Sheraton Hotel, 1201 boul. René Lévesque West, Montreal, until 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m.
