Louise E Smithers - Oostveen

Louise, 89, of Bayville, NJ, passed peacefully on April 16. Louise was a proud graduate of Teaneck High School and St. Luke's School of Nursing in New York City, class of 1957. As a nurse, she brought compassion and thoughtful care to her patients and to those she loved.

Louise found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid collector of recipes and enjoyed gardening, word games, and crafting. With a wink and a smile, she also loved testing her luck on slot machines and scratch-offs, always dreaming big and enjoying the moment.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Herman. Survived by her sister Barbara Hall of Emerson and her sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Roy Merz of Closter, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.
