Rachel Kimel (née Bocian)

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Rachel Kimel on Monday, March 9, 2026. Our hearts are broken. Beloved wife of David Kimel, z”l. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Anita and Ian Gold, Miriam and Dan Rosen, and Marcy and Adam Kramer. Adored Bubby of Matthew and Lauren, Spencer, and Lucas; Carly, Lindsay, and Hailey; Jordan, Jill, and Brandon. Proud Bubby Rachel and best FaceTime buddy of Liam. Cherished aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Chaya and Jack, and by her five siblings. Rachel’s greatest joy in life was her family. Her children and grandchildren were the centre of her world, and she followed their lives with immense pride.

She had a lifelong love of reading and was rarely without a book or newspaper in her hands. She followed the Israeli news and other world news closely and loved to share her thoughts and opinions with family. Learning was something she never stopped doing. She devoted herself to studying the Holocaust, understanding that remembering and imparting her knowledge to others was her responsibility.
