Ruth Marie Moore

Ruth Marie Moore of Houston, Texas passed away on April 15, 2026 at the age of 89. She was born on September 5, 1936 in Palestine, Texas where she grew up on a farm in the community of Days Chapel, to JT and Donnie Marie Moore.

She graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1964.

She had a long and dedicated career with Memorial Hermann Hospital for 39 yrs. Mostly running the lab, as Chief Medical Technologist. She later moved to the IT department as manager of Interactive Systems, to help with hospital system changes.

Ruth enjoyed traveling the world, theater, reading, sports (Astros, golf, women’s basketball, horse racing), fine dining and wines, but most of all spending time with family and friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her father, JT Moore; her mother, Donnie Marie Moore; and her sister Geraldine King and Brother-in-Law, George King.

She is survived by her nieces, Paula Smith, and Rhonda Fish; Rhonda’s husband Morgan Fish; great niece-Melissa Fish and great nephews Jacob Fish, Jordan Smith and Jayden Smith.

The family would like to thank Holly Hall Healthcare Nurses, Aids, OT & PT. Her caretaker-Sandy Dear and longtime friend Diana Bertrand for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Holly Hall-2000 Holly Hall St. Houston, Tx. 77054 on May 2 2026 at 2:30pm in the Chapel.
