Sonia (Kouyoumdjian) Igidbashian

We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Sonia (Sonig) Igidbashian (born Kouyoumdjian) at the age of 82 years old (September 1943 – April 7, 2026), a beloved mother, grandmother, and “tantig” to all who knew and loved her.

She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the joy she found in bringing people together. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary and always extended her love to those around her. She had a gift for welcoming others into her home always hosting, always cooking, always making sure no one left her table hungry. We take comfort in believing that she is now reunited with the loved ones she so dearly missed, including her late husband Haig Igidbashian.

She is survived by her sons Kevork and Levon and his wife Nancy, and her beloved grandchildren Alexandre and Emily. She also leaves behind her family—Nubar, Gayane, Mane, Lori, Ari, Tanya, Juan, Anais, and Jivan Goudsouzian—many of whom were touched throughout their lives by her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.
