AnnaMarie Sabina Haase (“Ree”), beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, at the age of 89.

Born on February 15, 1937, in New York City, AnnaMarie spent her childhood in Buffalo, New York. As a young woman, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she met the love of her life, James D. Haase. He asked her to marry him on their first date and she agreed. They married in 1958 and together built a life filled with many years of adventure and travel that took them around the world. AnnaMarie’s positive outlook, resolute strength, and unwavering faith in God complemented her husband’s exciting career, including taking their family around the world and living overseas in Korea, Thailand, Laos, Uganda, Kenya and Ghana. They loved meeting new people, enjoying local food and culture and bringing family and friends together around the table for one of Ree’s excellent meals.

They later moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1980 where they met many new friends and nurtured their growing family and soon began their lives as grandparents and great-grandparents.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, James D. Haase, and her beloved granddaughter, Colette Gregory.

AnnaMarie is survived by her children: Kathleen M. Hunter-Gregory (Haase); Jeane T. Haase (Patricia A. Rodriguez); AnnaMarie M. Sepulveda (Haase); and James G. Haase (Pam Dean).

She also leaves behind a large and loving family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Camille Olsen (Hunter) and her husband, Wyatt Olsen, and their son, Hunter Olsen; Cole Gregory; Tristen N. Ramsdell and her husband, Scott Ramsdell, and their daughters, Audrey, Charlotte, and Madelyn (“Ree”); Alexandra Fordiani and her husband, Tyler Fordiani; Mary Cavecche and her husband, Stephen Cavecche, and their children, Isla and Liam; James Sepulveda; Clare Sepulveda; Emily Sepulveda; John Sepulveda; Caitlyn Haase; and Max Haase.

AnnaMarie will be remembered for her steadfast faith in God, generous heart, adventurous spirit, gratitude for life and deep love for her children and family. Her presence touched all who knew her, and her legacy will live on through many lives.

Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with the love of her life and resting in God’s eternal peace. Funeral services will be announced soon.
