Barbara Ellen Wilson

Barbara Ellen (Brumley) Wilson of Waterford, California passed away peacefully in Riverbank on May 14, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Born the 8th of 14 children in Charleston, Missouri on January 27, 1935 to Eugene and Maddie Brumley, Barbara grew up with a spirit marked by faith, kindness, resilience and quiet strength. She worked at the Empire School District as an Accounting Tech and retired in 1997. For a number of years after retirement, she continued to work as a Substitute Office Assistant.

Throughout her life, she devoted herself to her family, friends and her church family. Barbara had a gift for making others feel seen and cared for, whether it be a quilt for a new grandchild, a warm meal for family or a friend, a thoughtful gesture, or simply her steady presence.

Barbara is survived by sons Howard (Keith) Wilson (wife Terry); Craig Wilson (wife Edna); Glen Wilson; daughter Sharon Wilson McEwen (husband Steve); daughter-in-law Tamara Love Wilson, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Barbara is also survived by brother James Brumley of Mountain Home, AR and sister Mary Brumley Southern of Riverbank, CA. Each will forever carry her love in their hearts. She was preceded in death by husband of 35 years, Glen Howard Wilson, and children Marvin Wilson, Kathie Wilson Stangnaess, and Glenda Wilson Price.

Barbara’s greatest joys were the births of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, her church family, and when her husband Glen joined the Baptist church. She approached each day with gratitude and grace. Those who knew her will remember her laughter, her unwavering faith and compassion, and the way she could turn even ordinary moments into something meaningful.

Barbara will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Waterford, Barbara’s home church for over 30 years.
