Betty Jean Baldree

Betty Jean Baldree of Columbia, SC, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026 at the age of 84.She was born on January 16, 1942 to Hubert and Miriam Lyons in Clearwater, Florida. After graduating from Largo, FL, she pursued a career with Nilson Van and Storage from where she retired. She married Ronald Alvin Baldree in 1972, and together they shared 45 wonderful years.Betty Jean Baldree enjoyed reading and traveling and was known for Big heart, strong will and devotion to her family.She was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Fisher, Gracie Lyons, Vernie Brown, Rosie Frith, Annie White and brother, Buddy Lyons. She is survived by her daughter Katherine East, sister Erma Blackburn, brother David Lyons, nephew Kenny White, grandchildren Wendy Dunaway and Angela Chavis and six great grandchildren.Visitation will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm, followed by a service at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
