It is with great shock and sorrow that the family of Cyrus Guildroy Journeau announces his sudden passing at Maria Hospital on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the age of 83.
While Cy, as he was commonly known, retired as a school board Director General, he will also be remembered as a teacher, a councilman and mayor as well as a lay reader in the Anglican Church. His love and devotion to his church and community was only surpassed but that he had for his family and wife of almost 62 years, Iva May Munro.
Cy is survived by his wife Iva Munro, his children Tania Lee (Richard) and Jonathan (Nadine) as well as his grandchildren Jhordan and Timothy and great-grandson, Sunny. His son, Christopher, predeceased Cy a year ago.
A celebration of Cy’s life will be held on Saturday, July 15 at 3:00 at the Saint Andrew’s Anglican Church in New Carlisle. There will be a visitation at the church from 1:00 to 3:00. In lieu of flowers, you can donate to Saint Andrew’s Anglican Church of New Carlisle.
