Etta Frances Harper Barbour, age 92, of Clayton, North Carolina, passed away peacefully Monday, May 11, 2026. She was born on April 17, 1934 in Clayton, North Carolina to Emma & BA Harper. She grew up in Clayton and attended Clayton High School, graduating in 1952. She worked for Westinghouse for 27 years. She married Jack Barbour on May 21,1955 in Dillion, South Carolina. Together they built a home and raised a loving family in Clayton, North Carolina.

She enjoyed traveling the country and seeing far away destinations. She visited 49 states and 16 countries during her life time. She especially loved her children, granddaughter and great grandsons more than life itself. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family. She would never let a birthday go by without sending a card to everyone. She always loved to feed anyone who came to visit. She was a member of the Clayton Church of God.

She is survived by her husband, Jack, son, Kenny, daughter, Kim (Tony), granddaughter, Megan Hayman (Mackie), and great grandsons, Harrison and Oliver. She was preceded in death by her parents Emma & BA Harper and siblings Jerline Jones, Alene Holland, Mary Evans, Martha Gilmore, JB Harper, and Johnny Harper.

Frankie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her. A very special heartfelt thank you to Florence Cox for her love and support, to Liberty Hospice staff and hospice nurse, Lashanna Brewer.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00am. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 15, 2026 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home, Clayton. The committal service will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Clayton.
