Jack Okey Barbour, age 91, of Clayton, North Carolina, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 17, 2026. He was born on July 3, 1934 in Clayton, North Carolina to Jepsie and Jessie Barbour. He grew up in Clayton. He was known as a "jack of all trades" and was self-employed doing construction work, welding, and truck driving. He married the love of his life Frankie Harper on May 21,1955 in Dillion, South Carolina. Together they built a home and raised a loving family in Clayton, North Carolina.
He proudly built their home in Clayton that they lived in for over 69 years. Jack truly loved being outdoors and working with his hands. His greatest passion was fishing and hunting. Jack was a member of the Clayton Church of God.
He is survived by his son, Kenny, daughter, Kim Perry (Tony), granddaughter, Megan Hayman (Mackie), great grandsons, Harrison and Oliver, and sisters Reba Seagroves and Yvonne Mims. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Frankie, parents Jepsie and Jessie Barbour and siblings Melvin Barbour, Dennis Barbour, Gernie Barbour, and Doris Southerland.
Jack will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. A very special thank you to the Liberty Hospice staff, hospice aide Angela Howell and hospice nurse, LaShanna Brewer. We will forever be grateful for the loving staff at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
