Jackie "Jack" Raper

Jackie "Jack" Raper, age 81, passed away on May 4, 2026.

Born to the late Edward and Mary Elizabeth Raper, Jack is also preceded in death by the woman who raised him, Lola Ann Raper; and his brother, John Patrick Raper.

Here to carry on his memory is his adoring wife of 58 years, Patricia S. Raper; their daughters, Melissa Devers (Dennis) and Leann Wortham (Rodney); his two brothers, Jerry Raper (Lynn) and Jim Raper (Kim); his nephew, who was like a son that Jack and Patricia raised, Alex Bryant; and a host of extended family and friends. He also leaves behind three fur granddogs, with Cara being "his" dog, and his beloved cat, Patches.

Jack proudly served in the United States Air Force for 8 years. Afterwards, he went on to work and retire from Ford Motor Company after over 30 years of hard work. In his spare time, Jack loved to plan vacations and go to Nolin lake with his family.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 8, 2026, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 5915 Outer Loop, Louisville, KY 40219. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that expressions of sympathy be made to Hosparus of Louisville or the Kentucky Humane Society.
