James Douglas Cannon Jr.

James Douglas Cannon, Jr. 69, of Brandon, passed away on April 22, 2026, at St. Dominic Hospital, Jackson.

James was born May 11, 1956, in Morton, a son of the late James D. Cannon, Sr. and Margene McCabe Cannon. He was employed for several years with The Refuge Gold Course in Flowood and attended St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl. James deeply loved his family and spending time with them. In his free time he enjoyed his favorite hobby of fishing.

In addition to his parents James was preceded in death by step-brothers, Michael Williamson, and Johnny Williamson.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Maria Asuncion M. Cannon; daughter, Maria Jean M. Cannon; brothers, Jimmy B. Cannon (Jan), and Ray Cannon; sister, Sharon Woodward (Gary); brother-in-law, Teodoro M. Malinao; sister-in-law, Delores M. Malinao; brother-in-law, Alejandro M. Malinao; brother-in-law, Albert Primo M. Malinao; and sister-in-law, Carolina M. Malinao.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Friday, May 1, 2026, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Rosary Services will follow at 7:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial Services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl with interment to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
