Jefferson (Wayne) Cardwell

Jefferson (Wayne) Cardwell, 86, of Paris, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Stillhouse Rehabilitation & Care Center.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services with military honors for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 7th at Manchester Cemetery with Joseph Nelms officiating.

Mr. Cardwell, the son of Charles Leonard Cardwell & Bertie Ann Lowe Cardwell, was born Sept. 16, 1939, in Littlefield, TX. On October 17, 1956, he joined the United States Air Force. On October 16, 1962, he was honorably discharged, having served six years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Steven Wayne Cardwell, a grandson, Jacob Aaron Thompson, a granddaughter, Heather McCall, and four siblings, Dema Boswell, Nolan Pack Jr., Ann Whittet, and Jimmy Pack.

Survivors include a brother, Johnny Pack, two daughters, Deborah Thompson & husband David and Suzette Nelms, grandchildren, Candace Leigh Penn, John Christopher Thompson, Jeremy M. Nelms, Joseph C. Nelms & wife Jennifer, Jarrett K. Nelms & wife Franckelle B., Michael Vandenboom, Steven A. Vandenboom, Brigette Cardwell, and Jessica Cardwell and several great grandchildren along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
