Passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026 at the age of 92.

Adored daughter of the late Olga Rakovsky and the late Béla Spitzer. Devoted wife of the late Ernest Werner. Beloved and treasured mother and mother-in-law of Veronica (Vera) and Johan Johnsson; Gabriel; Andrea and Raúl Urretabizkaya.

Cherished: Mormor to Simon and Jacob; grandmother to Rebecca and James; abuela to Sofía. Proud great-grandmother to Isla and Chloe.

She will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered by countless dearly loved friends, relatives and students (her extended family) around the world. She had a unique gift for connecting with people, giving freely of her time, attention and care; leaving a legacy of kindness and generosity that enriched all who knew her.

Juliana’s deep love for her family and friends was her source of joy to the very end. She left this world knowing she was loved deeply.

Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. West, on Thursday, March 5 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Adath Israel section, Baron de Hirsch Cemetery, 5015 rue de la Savane.
