Linda Louise Tekakwitha Deer

It is with profound sadness that we annouce the passing of Linda Louise Tekakwitha Deer, of Kahnawake, on June 1, 2026 at the age of 84.

Linda is now reunited with her parents, Louis and Gladys Deer, her 2 cheriched sons Wayde and Gregory Maldonado and son in law Joseph Skye.

She leaves behing her loving daugter Jill.

She will be forever lovingly remembered by her 3 grandsons, Gregory, Cole and Cody (Summer), 4 great grandchildren Grey, Joseph, Eden and Royce, special nephews and nieces Lindsay and Margie, great nieces Brittany (John) and Wahshokwiiostha (Brent) and 2 great-great nephews Diogo and Warner, aunts Hilda and Lena., special cousins Melody, Sharman, Lori and Joyce as well as many other cousins, relatives and friends.

Special thank you to the Dr.’s, nurses and staff of unit 2 Kateri Hospital for their care and compassion.

And to Valerie, Rosemary and Shari for their care and support.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Poissant & Deer funeral home Kahnawake.

The family will receive relatives and friends beggining on June 3, 2026 from 2pm.

Funeral service at St-Francis-Xavier Mission on Friday June 5, 2026 at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory to the Kateri Memorial Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
