Lucy Anne Escue

Lucy Escue passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and a lifetime of memories that will be treasured always.

Born in New Jersey, Lucy grew up in North Florida with her mother and two older sisters after losing her father at a young age. She later earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University and a master’s degree in Library Science from Western Kentucky University.

In 1981, Lucy married the love of her life, Bill. As a devoted Naval wife and stay-at-home mother, she dedicated herself to raising their three children. In 2013, Lucy and Bill moved to Sewall's Point, where they enjoyed volunteering, traveling, and the beauty of the Treasure Coast. After Bill’s passing in 2020, Lucy remained there, finding comfort in the place they had loved together.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill; her parents; her sister, Peggy; and her niece, Miranda.

She is survived by her sister, Kay (Gary); her children, Callie (Libby), Aimee (Rick), and Billy (Kelly); and her cherished grandchildren.

In honor of Lucy’s deep love of the water, her family will celebrate her life with a small ocean burial. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Council on Aging Martin County in Lucy’s memory.
