Marilyn Ruth (Horn) Schneider, 95, of Evansville passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.She was born July 12, 1930 as the only daughter to the late Herman C. and Ida K. (Reininga) Horn. Marilyn attended Scott Grade School and graduated from F.J. Reitz High School in 1948. She started at SIGECO in 1948 when she was 17, and retired 40 years later in 1988. Marilyn enjoyed gardening, canning, and exhibiting in the fair
Marilyn and her late husband, Robert, were married November 25, 1967. He preceded her in death January 29, 2018 after 50 years of marriage. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her caregivers, Gilbert and Linda Barchet; two goddaughters, Jennifer Barchet (Brad Gant) and Megan Barchet, all of Evansville.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Kirk Horstman, with burial to follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
