Mrs. Get (Jade) Woo

In Loving Memory...

Our beloved mother, Get (Jade) Woo, the matriarch of the Woo family, passed peacefully on the morning of Sunday April 26, 2026 at the age of 99.

Mom was born in China in 1926 and immigrated to Vancouver in 1951 to marry our father, Toy Man Woo. Once in Vancouver, she was mentored by Helen Duck and her sister Elsie Chow, both of whom would become her lifelong best friends. Widowed in 1967, she then became a single mother raising 6 children on her own.

Get (Jade) is predeceased by her husband Toy Man Woo, and her two sons; Kee and Bill.

She is survived by her children; Quone, Paul, Ed, Susie (Joe), daughter in laws; Michelle, Val, Marie, grandchildren; Kee-toy, Lisa, Dani, Jason, Derek, Kelly, Cassie, June, Kristina, Will, Nikki, Bailee, Austin, Sami, and her great grandchildren.

After living over 99 years of age, she leaves behind a legacy of 4 generations; ruled by her wooden spoon. Mom was a strong, independent, and fearless woman; devoting all to her family. Her family dinners would not only bring family together but also children and friends she adopted over the many decades of her life.

She was an amazing woman who had her own “unique” sense of style. She loved her patterns and bright colors and was never without her safety pin(s). She was “Mom” and “Grandma” to all.

Mom will be greatly missed and her love and legacy will continue in our hearts for generations to come. And while we will mourn her, we take comfort that her husband and sons are by her side. We love you, Mom, forever and always.
