Robert Cloice Castleberry

Robert Cloice Castleberry, 85, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026. He was born on April 20, 1941, in Houston, Texas. Robert spent his early years in McGehee, Arkansas and Monroe, Louisiana, before returning to Houston, where he built his life, career, and family.

Robert proudly served in the United States Army before dedicating 39 years of service to Houston Light and Power, where he worked as a lineman, head lineman, and supervisor. He took great pride in his work and the many friendships he made throughout his career.

Outside of work, Robert loved hunting and spending time outdoors. He shared countless stories from his years on the hunting lease with his beloved “hunting buddies,” stories that family and friends will cherish for years to come. He was known for his hard working spirit, sense of humor, and the deep care he showed for those around him.

Robert is survived by his son, Keith Castleberry and wife Kandace; daughter, Sandra Jenkins; His Grandchildren Kyle Jenkins and wife Alex; Lindsey Thompson and husband Michael; and Cody Jenkins. He also leaves behind his cherished granddaughters, Annie and Clara, as well as nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and many dear friends he considered family.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Castleberry; his parents, Bernard Cloice and Eddie Mae Castleberry; his brother, Billy Mac Castleberry and wife Zelda; and his sister, Jeannette Eubanks and husband Billy; and his son-in-law, David Jenkins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Stonecreek of Copperfield for the care, kindness, joy, and compassion they showed Robert during the last few years of his life.

Robert’s giggle, his sighs, and his stories will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
