Ronald Raymond Richards

Ronald “Ron” Richards, 92, of Orlando, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026. He was born on August 15, 1933, in Bloomfield, New Jersey.

Ron graduated from Bloomfield High School and later earned his associate degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He built a successful career in the technology and defense industries, holding contracts with PerkinElmer from 1979 to 1985, Litton Lasser Systems from 1985 to 1986, and Lockheed Martin from 1986 until his retirement in 1994.

Ron was married to the love of his life, Pat Richards, in October 1962, and they shared many wonderful years together until her passing from cancer in May 1999. He later married Blanche “Bunny” Somerson in July 2001 during a beautiful ceremony at the Princeville Resort in Hawaii.

A proud veteran supporter and active community member, Ron belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Eagles Club. He had a lifelong passion for baseball and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Ron is survived by his children, Ron Jr. and Steve; his grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Tiffany, Reese, Jaiden, Adam, Holly, and Brady; and his great-grandchildren, Darrell and Caiden.

A graveside service will be held on May 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery.

Ron will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
