Lillie Kahane (née Mazer)

With sadness we announce Lillie’s passing on Thursday, June 4th, 2026, at the age of 94 after a formidable fight. Devoted wife of the late Theodore (Bill) Kahane. Beloved and very special mother and mother-in-law of Donna and the late Alexander Turner, and Carrie and Jay Kiss. Proud Bubz of Noah (Karen), Jeremy, and Shane (Tia). Cherished great-grandmother of Minnie, Rosie, and Nila. Pre-deceased by her parents Harry and Evelyn Mazer. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Hilda and the late Doodie Adler, the late Dorothy and the late Sam Albert; sister-in-law of Joe z"l and Dyan z"l, Jack z"l and Rosanne z"l, Libby z"l and Harry Hurwitz z"l, and Jake z"l and Clara Shnerson z"l.

Special thanks to the entire palliative care team at the Mount Sinai Hospital for their attention, compassion and kindness.

Lillie was always eager to learn and share her knowledge, teaching art history at McGill’s continuing education. She was most proud of her career as an interior designer, and the results spoke for themselves. She was a perfectionist, as was witnessed in everything she did. She was elegant and intellectually sharp until the last.
