Michael Angelo Addante, 99, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in the company of his loving youngest daughter and under the devoted care of hospice.
Born on November 14, 1926, at home on North Elizabeth Street in Chicago, Illinois, Mike was the firstborn son of the late Louis Addante and Anna Barletta Addante. He graduated from Wells High School in 1945 and was drafted immediately afterward into the United States Army, serving two years in the Philippines during World War II.
Upon returning to Chicago after his service, Mike married his next door neighbor and sweetheart, the former Concetta “Connie” Ciolino, on September 27, 1947. Together they lovingly raised their three children and shared 70 years of a devoted, adventurous, and steadfast marriage.
Mike is survived by his children:
• Mark Anthony Addante (Julie) of Salida, Colorado
• Christine Sarah (Addante) Price (Rick) of Appleton, Wisconsin
• Lori Addante (Addante) Garlitos (Martin) of Charlotte, North Carolina.
He is also survived by his granddaughter, Payton Isabella Price; his beloved baby brother, Louis T. Addante; and his devoted godson, Bobby Gerger (Milady).
He was preceded in death by his two brothers Henry Addante and Pete Addante.
Mike was one of the few remaining members of the Greatest Generation, a time when devotion to family, friends, and country was everything. He embodied that spirit fully—striving to be his best and giving his all in everything he did.
As a newlywed, Mike found employment on the assembly line at Hotpoint and continued his career with General Electric, working diligently up the ranks. He retired in his 60s with the top performance numbers in the nation—an achievement earned through determination, integrity, and a strong work ethic, all with only a high school education.
Mike was a big personality—kind, generous, loyal, and steady. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a good and solid friend. Anyone who had the honor of knowing him will tell you the same.
