Priscilla Ann Egleston Montgomery, 76, of Charlotte, received her heavenly wings on May 12, 2026. Priscilla was born on August 14, 1949, in Charlotte, NC. She was the daughter of the late Clarence B. and Pearlean Dawkins Egleston and wife of the late Bobby Montgomery.
At an early age, Priscilla gave her life to Christ and became a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She received her formal education in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System and graduated from West Charlotte High School.
Priscilla was a former employee of the Busy Bee Food Mart on Beatties Ford Road and Catherines Clothing Store on Freedom Drive in Charlotte. Those employers afforded her the opportunity to meet, serve, and make friends with many people in the Charlotte community.
She was affectionately known as "Cilla Ann". Priscilla was The World's Greatest Tunk Player, she enjoyed listening to Luther Vandross and Al Green, traveling, joking, crossword puzzles, dancing, watching daily soap operas along with the Atlanta Braves. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She was known for her infectious smile and willingness to help others; especially the students attending Johnson C. Smith University during her tenure at the Busy Bee. Knowing those students were away from home, that was her way of showing them that others cared about them and their needs while they were away from home.
Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Montgomery; grandson, La'Traez Montgomery; granddaughter, Denia Rushing; great-grandchildren, La'Traez, II and Cassian; sister, Peggy E. White; brother, Leslie J. Egleston (Brenda); along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In addition to Priscilla's parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathleen Egleston Drakeford and Pearlalean Egleston.
A service to celebrate Priscilla's life will be held Thursday, May 21, 2026, 11:30 am at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 917 Clanton Road, Charlotte, NC. Visitation 11:00 am until the time of service at the church. Condolences may be submitted at www.forestlawnwest.com
