Adolfo G. Rego was born in Peva, Portugal in 1931. He was one of 12 siblings. He came to America in 1966 to start a new life with his wife and 3 children. Adolfo was a loving husband to Alexandria Ribau Rego for 57 years. Their marriage was built on love, respect, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment. He was a devoted father to Ulysses, Carlos, and Victor. He taught us that a person‘s word mattered, that hard work is something to be proud of, and that family always comes first. He didn’t just tell us how to live. He showed us every day through his actions. He was also a proud grandfather to Alicia, Stephanie, Brianna, and Francesca. Nothing brought him greater joy than watching his grandchildren grow and succeed. His love for them was unconditional, and his guidance will remain with them forever. For more than 30 years, Adolfo dedicated himself to the International Longshoreman‘s Association with daily commitment, pride, and an incredible work ethic. He understood the value of honest, hard work and believed that providing for his family was one of life’s greatest responsibilities and privileges. He loved fishing, bike restorations, going to the local coffee shop, and having an occasional garage sale interacting socially with the Elmora Elizabeth community, enjoying the simple things in life. Capitano, may you rest in eternal peace knowing your family will carry your name, your values, and your love for us always. We love you, will miss you, and will never ever forget you.
