Alice R. Douglas

August 19, 2026 Upton, Quebec Dignity Memorial

Alice R. Douglas, 96, passed away on August 19, 2026. Born on July 6, 1930, Alice was deeply beloved and cherished, remembered with gratitude for a life marked by compassion, devotion, and a steady, kind-hearted spirit.

Alice was born and raised in Hillside, NJ, and she and her husband, Edward J., both graduated from Hillside High School.

With faithful dedication to her work, Alice was a secretary and statistical typist for David N. Gardner Company for many years. She then went on to work for Dr. Henry J. Wujack in Newark, New Jersey, as a medical secretary.

A lifelong member of Christ, the King Church in Hillside, Alice’s enduring faith was a guiding presence throughout her life. She enjoyed trips to the Jersey shore with her family and especially to Atlantic City, but most of all Alice enjoyed spending time and holidays with her family—moments that reflected the warmth and care she so naturally gave to those around her.

Alice was predeceased by her husband Edward J. Douglas on July 20, 2012. She was also predeceased by her brother Joseph Grabowski and sisters Helen Willix, Harriet Lapinski and Terry Leary.

Alice is survived by her beloved son, Richard E. Douglas of Hillside; daughter, Diane Curtin, and husband Jim of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; loving granddaughter, Kristen O’Donnell, and her husband, Kevin; and great-grandchildren Camryn and Caden O’Donnell. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

Alice will be greatly missed by her loving family and especially by her great-granddaughter, Kristen O’Donnell, and her great-grandchildren, Camryn and Caden O’Donnell.
