Allen "Dwain" Maxwell, age 84 of Auburn, GA, passed away on September 29, 2026. He was a lifetime member of Union Baptist Church. Dwain had worked as an auto mechanic with Peachtree City Motors. He was a farmer who was known to many as "Goatman" because he raised goats. He loved eating at the Waffle House on Hwy 211 and he ate there almost every day. He loved people and was a big sweetheart. Dwain's favorite color was blue.
Dwain was preceded in death by his parents, Quill and Kate Maxwell; his wife, Peggy Maxwell; and eight siblings. He is survived by his son, Chris (Andrea) Perry of Winder, GA; stepdaughter, Sherry (Steve) Carbin of Buford, GA; brother, Ben "Jack" Maxwell of Bowman, GA; and two grandchildren, Taylor and Madison Carbin.
There will be a Visitation for family and friends on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from noon until 2:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA. The Funeral Service will be in Smith Memory Chapel at 2:00 pm with the Burial to follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
