Anita Furman, age 96, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on August 8, 2026.
Anita was born on July 5, 1930, in Brooklyn and she was employed for many years as a bookkeeper at Kingsway Jewish Center. She enjoyed playing Mahjong and reading Danielle Steel novels.
Anita is survived by her daughter Eileen Appelblatt; son AJ Furman and his wife Mary; grandson Jeffrey Appelblatt; grandson Stephen Appelblatt; granddaughter Elyse Appelblatt; and great-grandson Corey Appelblatt.
Anita was predeceased by her husband Leonard Furman in 1987; her brother Irwin Cooper; and sister Sylvia Shapiro.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30pm on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Beth Moses Cemetery, 1232 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, New York 11704. All guests are asked to meet outside the cemetery office at 12:00pm.
