Ann Chambliss Timberlake, 79, of Cary, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026, after spending a day surrounded by her family.

Ann was born on September 12, 1946, in New Haven, Connecticut, to R. Lee and Ruth Chambliss. She grew up in Blacksburg, Virginia, where she graduated from Blacksburg High School in 1964. She went on to attend King College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics in 1968.

Having taught for more than 20 years as a dedicated high school math teacher, she also served as a cheerleading sponsor. She later expanded her professional path by earning a Master of Science degree in Quality, Values, and Leadership (MBA) from Marian University of Fond du Lac in 1994. Following this achievement, she pursued a second career in the pulp and paper industry, contributing her talents to James River Paper Company, TAPPI (Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry), and Metso Paper.

A woman of deep faith, Ann was raised in the church and remained an active and devoted member throughout her life. She was involved with Grace Presbyterian Church in Atlanta and later became an engaged member of Peace Presbyterian Church in Cary.

Ann had a lifelong love of animals, especially dogs and cats, and found great joy in caring for them. She also had a remarkable gift for sewing, which she generously shared with family and friends. Whether creating baby gift sets, American Girl doll clothing, pet bandanas, or beautiful home accents, her work reflected both her creativity and her love for others.

She is survived by her sons, Brian McLean Williford (Monica) and Douglas Vernon Timberlake (Kathy); her grandchildren, Bailey, Hayden and Collin Williford, and Mason, Connor, Kaleb, Ethan, and Isla Timberlake; her sisters, Cindy Martin (Roger) and Cammie Williams; and her nieces.

She was preceded in death by her son, Archie Campbell (“Cam”) Williford, and her parents, R. Lee and Ruth Chambliss.

Ann will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, strong faith, and the love she shared with her family and all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 13th at 1pm EST at Peace Presbyterian Church in Cary, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Peace Presbyterian Church of Cary.
